In this tutorial I will teach you how to make easy light spot textures via Paint Shop Pro. It's not as simple as it is the make on Photoshop, but if we get down to the point it's really just a bunch of circles of different sizes and opacity's. To begin with open up an image on paint shop pro, adjust the image to whatever size you want your texture to be. My image is sized 737 x 566. Fill the image with a solid color of black

Using tool draw a circle onto your image. My circle is sized around 48 x 48 and in the color #6D00A6. Continue to add circles in this way, all of them must be on different layers. Once you have enough big circles, you can start drawing small circles, each of my smaller circles have been reduced to an opacity of around 30%. I have also added some other big circles behind some of my main circles and reduced their opacity too. It's really just about playing with your circles, putting them into the shape and color that you want, at the moment all of my circles are the same color.



Once you are happy with your light spot texture, merge all of your layers together. Then create a new layer, using the brush tool at a hardness of 0 and a size of your choice (depending on your image), go crazy with colours! =] I've chosen this time just to stick with pink and purple.



I've changed that raster layer now to Color (L) and merged all of my layers together.

To finish off your texture, go to Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Automatic Contrast Enhancement and select what I have show below:

Lighter
Mild
Bold

And with that, your light texture is complete. :)
