Creating Rainbows

In this tutorial I will take you on a step by step guide adding a rainbow setting to your images. This trick works well with layouts. Please link back if this tutorial helps you and feel free to contact me for any more help. Hope you like it!



First create a new image sized 388x293. Fill this image with #000000. Then create a new raster layer, using a brush with a hardness of 0 and a colour of #FFFFFF, add three random dots to the image.



After change the raster layer to Dissolve at 1%. Create a new raster layer and drag it below your first one. Highlight the first one and go to layers > merge > merge down. set that layer to 50% opacity. Merge all of your layers together.



Using the shape tool, select Eclipse. Use the following settings:
Size: 8
Line Type: Solid
Pallet: Top box highlighted
Select any colour you want, of if you want to be precise you can select the first colour in an actual rainbow. Add a wide circle and continue to add circles inside of this one, they don't have to be perfect because you can alter the size of them once you have put them there. These are the benefits of shapes the Preset Shape Tool.



Continue to add more colours in this same way. Once you are satisfied, right click the vector layer and change it into a raster layer. Then use the selection tool in a rectangle, anti alias and feather of 0 to go over the bottom of the circle.



Press delete to delete the bottom of the circle and press CTRL+D to get rid of the lines. Next, create a new raster layer. Select the brush tool and change your setting to the following:
Hardness: 53
Step: 32
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Opacity: 100
Add three random circles to the corner of your rainbow (these are supposed to be clouds, btw.)

Now merge all of your layers and you're done.
