Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so my friend Blessing and I thought we’d whip up lookbooks to give you some ideas for the day! You can view Blessing’s lookbook here, Blessing is one of my good friends and makes advice videos on YouTube with fashion being a new avenue for her on her channel, so definitely check out her YouTube channel and remember to subscribe.

I’ve whipped up two looks, a day look and a night look, suitable for whatever you may have planned. When I was younger I remember Valentine’s Day being the biggest deal in the world, my school would allow you to give out anonymous Valentine’s Day roses to your ‘crush’, and it was always a big deal amongst me and my friends when we were young, waiting to see who would get one (typically never me, ha.) I don’t really see Valentine’s Day as a big deal anymore, but it’s a good excuse to plan something fun with my boyfriend. Given that we both like to surprise each other, I’ve actually planned a surprise day trip somewhere for him which I’m really excited about, and he’s planned an evening meal somewhere sometime this week, which gives me an excuse to wear both of these outfits.

Look 1: Daytime

This first look is fairly simple other than the added colour of the light pink skirt. I picked this up from ASOS just before I went to Cyprus last year, and given that it’s pink and girly, it’s suitable for a Valentine’s Day out, if that’s what you’re into. I teamed it up with my faux fur colour coat from Lasula Boutique which I wear almost every day, it always leaves me feeling quite glamorous.

Look 2: Nighttime

NEW LOOK Jacket* [similar] HOUSE OF FRASER Dress [not in stock] YUMI Boots* [not in stock]

For my nighttime look, I whacked out the heels. I chose to go for heeled ankle boots instead of stilettos as, unless you’re going clubbing, I think it’s cool to keep things still fairly casual on Valentine’s Day. My mum bought me this dress from House of Fraser not too long ago, it’s a ‘sensible’ dress and definitely very cute for something like a dinner (compared to a tight bodycon dress that you’d wear clubbing), and I feel like the pinks in the dress are complemented so well by this pink coat from New Look.

The ironic thing about this post, is that my daytime look was shot in the evening, and my evening look shot in the day…

What are your Valentine’s Day plans?
